Every indigenous community that works with ASCIM has a community consumer store. This store sells all the groceries, clothes and gift articles to the village people of the community. In this store the village people get their crop paid for and here they pay off their loans.
The village grocery store is very important for the community because the money generated here flows back to the same source. In many cases, a second rural mentor works in and oversees the community store, but in other cases, members of the Administration Council do the work.
